Research Summary Template at UPMC
Fall 2024 - Spring 2025
Tools: Miro, SharePoint
The Problem: User researchers and designers were presenting insights inconsistently across product teams, making it harder for product managers, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders to absorb findings efficiently and quickly see the need for design.
My Role
Led in the innovation of standardizing a research summary template as a member of the internal ResearchOps team. The impact of this work helped designers clearly and concisely share key findings with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, and project stakeholders), leading to increased design value.
Process Overview
– Audited current research sharing practices and alignment gaps
– Created a repeatable template summarizing intro, methods, findings, analytics, and impact
– Collaborated with visual designers to enhance clarity, accessibility, and brand alignment
– Advocated for adoption across the UX org and added to central documentation
– Connected the summary format to sprint reviews and research advocacy efforts
